How to Improve Sleep
1. Eat foods that induce sleep
Melatonin is a hormone that is associated with sleep. There are plenty of food out there that can help the body increase melatonin which in turn make you sleepy.
Some of these foods are:
2. Decrease caffeine intake
As caffeine has been identified as one of the main culprits of sleep deprivation, reducing caffeine intake should lead to better quality of sleep. Most get their caffeine fix from coffee so it's good practice to go for alternative sources such as tea.
3. Make sure the bedroom is for sleeping only
When we work right on top of our bed it conditions the brain to think the bed is not a place to sleep. This also holds true for those who browse their phones while lying in bed. The best way to remedy this is to simply make the bedroom exclusively for sleeping only.
4. Have a daily sleep routine
Don't fidget over what to do before hitting the sack. Often times having a routine helps the brain trigger its sleep mechanisms which makes sleeping easier. It's similar to morning routines that wake you up but this time in reverse.
At our physician community, we believe in the power of purpose-driven connection.
This is more than just a network — it’s a movement to restore the excitement of the white coat. It’s a space where doctors from all specialties come together to share ideas, support one another, and spark meaningful change in healthcare.
We are united by a desire to reignite the passion that brought us into medicine — to find joy and fulfillment in our work again. Here, wellness isn’t just something we promote for our patients, but something we cultivate for ourselves. It’s a place to reconnect with purpose, rediscover your voice, and feel the strength that comes from a community of like-minded peers.
Together, we’re shaping the future of medicine — innovating, collaborating, and leading with integrity, compassion, and resilience. This is where doctors come to grow — as clinicians, as leaders, and as human beings.
Let’s bring back the spark. Let’s wear the white coat with pride — and with power.
